Dr. Alia Al Kaabi obtained her Bachelor of Architectural Engineering from United Arab Emirates University, master’s degree in engineering management from the same University. In 2016, Dr. Alia Al and she obtained her Ph.D. in Business Administration from Abu Dhabi University with Honors.
She has a combine effective communication and leadership skills with extensive product knowledge to identify opportunities and deliver a satisfactory outcome. She uses strategic planning and strong communication skills to ensure required activities are delivered effectively.
Dr. Alia Al Kaabi Joined Abu Dhabi Water and Electricity Authority in 2003 and served as a Head of Procurement, Contracts & Coordination. Then she was promoted to Supply Department Manager with the responsibilities of the aspects of the supply chain. Later, Dr. Alia Al Kaabi was appointed as Director of Business Support at ADWEA with the responsibilities of managing projects, resources, and staff in an effective and efficient manner.
In 2018, Dr. Alia Al Kaabi was appointed as Technical Advisor in Abu Dhabi Transmission & Dispatch Company (TRANSCO) which is part from TAQA group one of the largest integrated utilities and energy groups in Europe Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) with operations in power and water generation, transmission and distribution, as well as upstream and midstream oil and gas operations. She has supported and advised the leadership in various business cases and initiatives serving TAQA sustainability journey by providing low carbon power and water, while continuing to embed sustainability principles and practices in everything we do.
Later Al Kaabi was appointed to lead the procurement and inventory management functions as Supply Chain Director to optimize TCO value, material availability and efficiency, delivery schedules and project timelines. Manage the relationship with suppliers in alignment with TAQA Group policies and procedures and through procurement specialists who are independent of the product or service to serve local procurement spending . Beside that she has mandate to supervise the products and services tenders transparently while adhering to the TAQA policies and procedures; ensuring a competitive and fair playing field enhances the organisation’s ability to receive the best quality for products and services provided.
TAQA focused on supplier performance and operational processes, which include time delivery performance of vendors, buyer tendering timelines and supplier contract expiration, among others.
Further to her enormous achievements, the DBA at the Abu Dhabi University exposed her to a wide range of business management topics that have a consequential direct effect on finding the solutions to the challenges faced efficiently. In addition, she is working as adjunct instructor in Abu Dhabi University.
