Ziba Mehra joined the Calpine Corporation as Sourcing and Contracting Management in 2011. She was promoted to the Purchasing Manager role in 2012 where she led the Purchasing Department focused on overseeing procurement activities for 100+ business units. In 2017, she joined the Diversity and Inclusion Council and served as a Council member until 2020. In 2019, she was promoted to the role of Director, Purchasing with an additional responsibilities of Contingent labor management and Supplier Diversity Program at Calpine where she continues to serve today.

Before joining Calpine, Ziba has held various business management roles across multiple industries such as Oil and Gas, Education and Retail.
She is a recipient of the Billie Jean Sommer Award, received as the 2010-2011 Outstanding New Member from ISM-Houston . She is also the recipient of the Rigle Award for her work as “Advocate of the Year” from HMSDC in 2021.

In her spare time, she volunteers for several organizations such as HMSDC, ISM-Houston, including Calpine. Currently, she is serving as the Continuous Improvement Chair for HMSDC and has been serving on the HMSDC’s Supplier Diversity Advisory Council (“SDAC”) committee since September 2020. She is also serving as the Director at Large at ISM Houston for the 2022-2023 calendar year. Lastly, she is a member of several Employee Resource Groups (“ERGs”) at Calpine where she actively engages with other ERG members to learn and embrace about different cultures.

She enjoys walking, biking, reading, and spending quality time with her children and family.
