Ben is an energy industry professional with over 15 years of experience in market analysis, energy economics and data analytics. Much of his career has been centered on petroleum refining and petrochemicals.
Ben currently serves as the Head of Data and Analytics at Poten and Partners in Houston, Texas where he leads a team working on new data and analytics initiatives. Prior to Poten and Partners, Ben briefly served as Director of Research and Analysis at Chemical Market Analytics, A Dow Jones Company covering the North American ethylene markets. For nearly 7 years Ben worked at Phillips 66 in various roles including: Technical Analytics Coach (Data Analytics group), Market Intelligence Specialist (Procurement), and Energy Economist (Chief Economist Office). In the past, Ben also worked for S&P Global Commodity Insights (formerly Platts) as a petrochemicals analyst and Advisian (formerly Jacobs Consultancy) as a senior analyst and project manager.
Outside of work, Ben serves as a board director for the Association of Industry Analytics and Houston Energy Data Science. He has a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics, a Master’s in Education Management, and a Master’s in Business Administration with a focus on International Business.
