John Atasie is a seasoned global supply management executive with a proven track record in the energy industry. He brings deep expertise in procurement, contracting, strategic sourcing, category and spend management, supplier onboarding, and supplier relationship management. His career is marked by cross-functional versatility, having also held roles in life insurance underwriting, claims management, new product development, risk analysis, banking operations, property development, and the criminal justice system, giving him a unique, multidimensional perspective on business operations and stakeholder engagement. John is widely recognized for his leadership, vision, and commitment to advancing the supply management profession.
As the 104th President of the Institute for Supply Management (ISM–Houston, Inc.) for the 2024–2025 program year, John led the chapter to an unprecedented year of performance. Under his leadership, ISM–Houston experienced a 15% year-over-year growth in overall membership, a 23% surge in corporate memberships, a 35% increase in revenue, and a remarkable 112% achievement over sponsorship targets. His tenure also saw significant community impact, including $17,000 raised for local charitable causes and a 16% year-over-year growth in the chapter’s investment portfolio.
Recognizing his exceptional contributions and leadership, ISM® Global appointed John to its elite Thought Leadership Council, where he actively supports the Strategic Sourcing and Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) Committee.
